Extrusion Operator (Day Shift)

Shift: M-Th 6a-6p; F 6a-3:30p

SUMMARY

Responsible for the operation of the extrusion line.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of the extrusion line.
  • Make proper adjustments to machine settings to keep it running.
  • React quickly to provide necessary adjustments to remain in specifications.
  • Follow directions from management regarding length and color choices to be run.
  • Meet required labor and machine efficiencies.
  • Perform continuous quality checks.
  • Maintain the department’s 5S program.
  • Perform PM’s on extrusion lines and support equipment.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Follow all required safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Teamwork is essential

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing, walking, and manipulation of wrenches with hands will be 100% of the time for 12 hr shift.  
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks: visual inspection of machinery and product, fine hand manipulation, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and overhead reach.
  • Prolonged standing.
  • Lifting of 40lbs will be only on needed basis.  

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate robots and the cutting machines.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read and use measuring tools.
