Tool Room Technician I

Shift: M-Th 6a-4:30p; F 6a-3:30p 

Summary

Performs preventative maintenance and light repairs of injection tooling.  Ability to assist in diagnosis of the issues during preventative maintenance and production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot molds and tools to determine root cause of issues.
  • Ability to disassemble/reassemble molds and tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on molds and tools; including monitoring tooling for wear.
  • Ensure tooling conforms to specs.
  • Set up and change injection tooling.

  • Documentation of all work performed.
  • Maintain clean work environment while applying all safe work practices; following all safety procedures in accordance to company policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Display a positive attitude in day to day interactions with other employees and supervisors.
  • Exhibit attributes of a team player that helps his or her teammates succeed.
  • Provide management with information on safety and reliability of equipment.
  • Work closely with management to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required.

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks: visual inspection of machinery and product, fine hand manipulation, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and overhead reach.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding the function of injection tooling and basic machinery.
  • Perform basic math calculations and readings of various instruments (ex. Calipers dial indicators, micrometers, height gages, etc.) essential to job duties.
  • Possess basic blueprint reading skills with ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches.
  • Self-motivated.
