Process Technician (Injection Molding Experience Required) (Night Shift)

Shift: Su-Th 6p-6a.

Summary

In-depth understanding of injection molding processes and machinery. Ability to change tooling, set up machines, and monitor for accurate process and cycle times of machinery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative activities on shut down weekends to keep tools mechanically in good working order, ready to produce. Activities include cleaning tools, dirty grease removal, rust protection spray application, and new grease application to guide pins and tool slides
  • Keep assigned area in good shape and organized. Extra totes, recycle items, non-use products, and equipment must be properly stored
  • Complete all preventive daily checks such as nozzle leaks, oil leaks, and water leaks
  • Record all quality paperwork in accordance with the established standards or as outlined by the injection molding and quality supervisor
  • Repair basic tool and machine issues, such as broken hoses, small oil leaks, and Trek machine stamps.
  • Set up and change injection tooling
  • Perform simple preventative maintenance of tooling
  • Adjust process to conform to quality and production standards
  • Set up assembly stations to produce products
  • Ensure that product conforms to bill of materials
  • Verify machines are running in a safe manner without obvious issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Employee must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds. The employee must have the ability to complete the following repetitive tasks. The percentage of involvement in each applicable activity is noted.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to five years of experience in an injection molding environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivation
